Protecting Yourself & Your Customers From Insurer Fraud
Insurance is an important risk management tool for the average American. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work the way it’s meant to & insurance fraud can occur on all sides of the claims process. Most criminal fraud prosecution is done in defense of insurers and NOT the policyholders & taxpayers who actually fund the prosecution. This is an introduction to the first organization in American history to focus specifically on defending consumers from being defrauded in the claims process: The American Policyholder Association.
This presentation will familiarize you with the adverse relationship between consumers and insurers during the claims process. Discussion will include how the imbalance of power & expertise creates an environment that is ripe for fraud & how you can spot signs that you or your customers are being victimized by unscrupulous fraudsters. The American Policyholder Association’s mission is to facilitate the removal of such bad actors in order to ensure that American consumers faced with a loss can count on efficient insurance markets and an honest claims process.
