Afghanistan’s Refugee and Natural Disaster Crisis

James will discuss the Afghan refugee crisis, the ramifications of annual natural disasters on refugee survival, and American Duty''s work to save the lives of American and Afghan refugees.

American Duty tells their stories and fundraises for evacuation operations. Our volunteer coalition provides emergency rescue to Americans and Afghan refugees after the Fall of Kabul, helps to re-establish their lives somewhere safe, and addresses our volunteers'' mental health.

About James Oleen

James Oleen recruits, trains, and supports conservative veterans for elected office. He is a decorated combat veteran of the United States Army, specializing in media relations and communications. As a soldier and civilian, James worked at the United States Embassy in Iraq for eight years. He has worked in the media and managed or consulted for campaigns and PACs in more than 30 states. James leads a team motivated to support value-driven candidates and teach them how to run successful campaigns.

Today, James leads a team at American Duty, an IRS recognized 501(c)3 non-profit, that tells the stories of American and Afghan refugees, the volunteers keeping them alive, and the coalition evacuating them from Taliban rule. American Duty adapts the stories into a call for support across the nation to fund the coalition’s operations.

James completed his undergraduate work in Aviation at the University of Maryland.
