The Flood Mitigation Industry is Growing to Meet Demands Worldwide

The changing climate-created flooding is driving demand for flood hazard mitigation projects. Elevation and dry floodproofing are proven methods of reducing flood risk and flood insurance rates. Floodproofing products of all kinds are being created, tested, and certified.
This session will provide a view into our rapidly growing industry and the big grants, loan programs to finance the projects along with the important reasons of protecting our assets.

About Rod Scott, CFM

Rod has over 35 years as a contractor and has spent the last 15 years in the flood mitigation of buildings. Rod owns L&R Resources, LLC and is serving as the Board Chair of the Flood Mitigation Industry Association-FMIA, 501c3. Rod is a Certified Flood Plain Manager and was awarded the National Flood Proofing Award 2014 for the public education outreach program after Sandy - “Elevation 101”. Rod’s goals are to help get many of the 3-4 million oldest high flood risk buildings in US flood zones retrofitted, elevated, dry, or wet floodproofed and to grow the flood mitigation industry.
