Security of Power Supply with On-site Renewable Energy Generation

Presenting on the risk to the centralized power grid and power supply due to natural and other disasters. Dependence on the grid for core power supply creates vulnerabilities in both the security and cost of supply. Examples of this is the 2018 Camp Fire in California and the energy crisis as a result of the Ukrainian conflict. On site high density generation is key to mitigating this risk.

About Christopher Stewart

Christopher Stewart is the Senior Business Developer for Agile Wind Power, a Swiss-based distributed wind turbine OEM. He has more than 14 years experience in the distributed wind market. Prior to AWP, Chris was the Business Development Manager with Endurance Wind Power, Market Development EMEA and then Global Business Development Manager with Northern Power Systems AG. Highlight Project was the implementation of an island micro grid project consisting of 4x 100kW turbines, 145kW solar PV, diesel gen-sets and a 2MWh battery on Gasa-island, Republic of Korea with KEPCO. Chris is 50 years of age, a Swiss, US, and UK citizen. He has lived 18 years in Switzerland, previously 10 years in Japan and was born in Massachusetts. He peaks fluent Japanese and German.
