Federica Pilia. She is Senior Specialist in Social Development and International Consultant for Developing Countries. She holds a Master in Political Science and another Master in Multi-Level Governance and is pursuing a PhD in Territory, Risk and Public Policy with the University of Coimbra. She specializes in methodologies for building resilience, social development and strategic planning, including a deep and positive experience in project applications for the European Union, UNDP and Camões I.P. She has more than 18 years of professional experience working in international cooperation, extensive know-how in project monitoring and evaluation, with proven capacity to analyze the impact of projects and programmes, focusing on medium and long-term strategies for socio-economic development, including cross-cutting issues (VGB, Human Rights Approach, HIV, people with disabilities, etc.) and Leave No One Behind principles. In addition, she has a strong understanding of complex contexts, especially in Africa and Portuguese-speaking countries, including capacity development and the role of civil society in political and democratic participation. She also has experience in capacity building and relations with state institutions at all levels, NGOs, UN agencies, private sectors and donors, and has a clear understanding of the problems that exist in achieving community development.
