Permeable Plastic Paving Grids – proven solutions, endless possibilities

Pervious plastic paving grids are relatively new to North America, but they were developed in Germany about 25 years ago. Europe has hundreds of millions of SqFt in use for parking lots, streets, railroads, agriculture, erosion control and recreational areas. NATO uses them in combat zones and EU governments have developed robust testing and construction standards to govern their use. This seminar will explore their general characteristics and uses.

About Chris Yerkes

After graduating from Harvard in 1973, Mr Yerkes joined Johnson Controls as a control systems engineer in their New York City office. That began a long career in the construction industry, much of which has been in coastal areas. He holds North Carolina contracting licenses in commercial, residential, marine, highways, public utilities, railroads, excavating, tunneling, plumbing, electrical (retired) and mechanical classifications. He is a partner in Permeable Grid Solutions LLC, the distributor for the German designed ECORASTER brand of permeable grid paving and storm water systems in NC, SC, GA, & FL. He is married, has two adult children and lives in coastal Wilmington, NC, which has endured its share of hurricanes and flooding in the last 30 years.
