Tom Spalj, introduced the 5-connected bulk bag systems, BigBagsUSA to the United States shortly after the Great Flood of 2008 had hit his hometown of Iowa City. Filling & stacking regular sandbags is always tedious and backbreaking, so when Tom came across the 5 bag system it just made sense for an easier way to defend against any type of flooding.
